Community Engagement

The Office of Community Engagement (OCE) was created in August of 2013 as a step to further deepen, expand and integrate community engagement within the culture of Kennesaw State University. The OCE seeks to connect university knowledge and resources with those of the public and private sectors to enrich scholarship, research, and creative activity; enhance curriculum, teaching and learning; prepare educated, engaged citizens; strengthen democratic values and civic responsibility; address critical societal issues; and contribute to the public good.

At KSU, we use the umbrella term “community engagement” to encapsulate the various ways in which we connect with the community. This includes any significant connection between our students, faculty, staff, alumni and retirees with the larger community through engaged teaching and learning, volunteering, outreach, community service or other means.
